Reb B U18 (2007 and 2008)

Tryout Schedule

Coach – Ben Cassan

Hockey Experience

I’ve played all my minor hockey with the Gloucester Rangers association. Then played Jr.”A” for a five seasons and finished my career playing in the US for a year.

I’ve coached my son and daughter’s teams over the past 11 years. I’m excited to be coaching the U18 rep B team this year. I use a positive approach to coaching which means talking and encouraging the kids in a calm and supporting tone. My objective is to make sure all the players and parents have a fun and successful year.  Being successful doesn’t mean winning every game or the championship, it means, every child has developed their skills, become better hockey players, made friends, had a lot of fun, and truly enjoyed coming to the rink.

Family

We will focus on the “Team” aspect this year.  We are a family; we encourage, take care of each other through the ups and downs. You need team unity to be successful.  Not one player can do it all, every player has a job to do and it’s important that everyone does their job well so that the whole team succeeds.

Effort/Commitment

My goal is to push every player to give 100% mind and body so they can all improve as individuals and as a team. This will take devotion and dedication. I expect the players to work hard in practices and that will carry into the games.

Respect

I want the players to be respectful of each other, coaches, parents, refs, other teams and other coaches.  We expect the players to always act in good sportsmanlike fashion to all these people which means no talking back to adults or the referees and no taunting or making fun of the other team. I will not tolerate unacceptable behaviour towards anyone.
