Rep B U11 (2014)

Coach Bio

Head Coach – Ryan Mulligan

Hockey & Coaching Experience:

I have been involved in hockey either as a player or coach for over 40 years. As a player, I spent my minor career playing for the Richmond Royals Rep B teams. As a player, I played both as a forward and on defense which allowed me to have a well-rounded view of the game. I’ve been able to continue my love for the game by playing in local adult leagues around the city.

In 2014, I started my coaching journey with LMHA as Head Coach for U9 House B. During the years, I’ve been fortunate to either Head Coach or be an Assistant Coach which has allowed me to gain valuable coaching experience that I can apply at the Rep B level. In the 2022-2023 season, I coached my U18 House B team to the Championship finals. This past season, I was Head coach for U18 House B and an Assistant Coach for the U10 Rep B team.

Coaching Philosophy:

From my coaching experience; hockey players come to the rink to have fun, play with friends, to learn and develop as a player and to be part of a team. This is what keeps hockey players coming back to hockey year after year. As Head Coach, I will ensure this is fostered in my team and strive to have a positive impact on every player. My goal is to teach, motivate, develop and inspire the players to be their best. I will give the players every opportunity to contribute to their own success and to that of the team.

In order to get the best from my players on the ice, I will ensure appropriate and effective practices for developing players’ fundamental skills; such as skating, passing, puck control and shooting. I’ll, also, incorporate skill development through hockey stations, small area games, player or team competitions, and team play systems. As a coach, I strive to make my instructions clear and understandable to the player. I will work with my coaching staff to ensure what is taught on and off the ice is beneficial to both player and team.

My commitment is to the players, parents and coaches that make our team. If there are any issues, I want to address them immediately and ensure our team’s focus and commitment remain strong and positive.

I look forward to working with LMHA to build a successful U11 Rep B team for the 2024-2025 season!
